Hi, hello!

The short version: I collect what I need to book your session, deliver your photos, and run a small marketing operation. I don't sell your info. I don't share photos of your family without asking you first. If something goes wrong, you tell me, and we fix it. That's the whole thing.

Who I am

I'm Sami, the photographer and creator behind Sami Cuff Socials. Brisbane-based, family-focused, working out of a home office while a toddler naps.

What I collect, and when

When you book a session with me, I'll ask for:

  • Your name (and your partner's if they're part of the session)

  • An email and a phone number

  • Your kids' names and ages

  • Session preferences (date, location, what you're hoping for)

  • Payment info, which gets processed through my booking platform, not handled by me directly

  • Anything else you tell me to help your session go well

If you visit my website, your browser shares:

  • Your IP address and browser type

  • The pages you look at and how long you stay

  • Where you came from (Google, Instagram, etc.)

That's standard for any website that uses tools like Squarespace, Meta Pixel, or Google Analytics. It helps me understand which of my pages and posts are working.

If you sign up for my emails, I keep:

  • Your email address

  • A record of which emails you've opened and clicked on

  • Your subscription preferences

If you follow me on Instagram or TikTok, I see:

  • Whatever you've made public on your profile

  • Which posts you've liked or commented on, basically the normal social platform stuff

What I do with all of it

I use your info to:

  • Run your session and deliver your photos

  • Send you emails about your booking

  • Send you marketing emails ONLY if you've ticked the box to receive them

  • Make my website work better

  • Run targeted ads so the right Brisbane families see my work, not random people

  • Use photos from your session in my portfolio or social media, BUT only if you've said yes first (more on this below)

Who I share it with

I don't sell your info. Ever. Non-negotiable.

The only people who see your info are:

  • The tools I use to run my business (Squarespace for the website, Pixieset for galleries and bookings, my email platform, my payment processor)

  • Meta and Google in aggregated form (they help me run ads but they don't get your name attached to a profile)

  • Legal authorities if I'm required to share something by law (which has never happened, but legally I have to mention it)

Cookies and tracking

My site uses cookies. They're small files that let the site remember you and help me understand my traffic. The main ones are Squarespace's own cookies, the Meta Pixel (for ads), and Google Analytics. You can turn them off in your browser settings, though some bits of the site might get weird.

Your kids and your photos

This is the section I care about the most.

  • I will never publish a photo of you or your children without your written permission first. Full stop.

  • That permission gets captured in your booking contract before your session happens.

  • You can change your mind at any time and ask me to take photos down. Just email me.

  • I never tag children with their full names in anything public.

  • If you've told me about an allergy or sensitivity to help me plan the session, that info stays with me and nobody else. It doesn't go in a CRM, it doesn't go to a partner, it doesn't go anywhere.

How long I keep your info

  • Booking and contract details: 7 years (the ATO makes me keep these for tax purposes)

  • Your photos: I keep them forever unless you ask me to delete them

  • Email list: until you unsubscribe

How I keep it safe

Payment data is encrypted by the payment processor (I never see the actual card details). My file storage and backups are password-protected. I'm the only one with access. If something ever did go wrong, I'd let you know straight away.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • See what info I'm holding about you (just ask)

  • Ask me to correct it if it's wrong

  • Ask me to delete it (with the tax-record exception above)

  • Withdraw your consent for marketing or photos any time

  • Make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you don't feel I've handled something well

Overseas stuff

Some of my tools (Squarespace, Meta, Google) are based in the US. By using my services, you're agreeing that your info can go to those tools to do their job.

When I update this page

If I change anything significant on this page, I'll update the date at the top.
